we obviously need defenders, even as cover. but ritchie maybe doesn't want to sign anyone who isn't going to be "an improvement on what we've already got" beyond the end of the season. so i don't see why we don't get richard edghill, he played alright against us earlier in the season and is quite a solid performer...just released by bradford. apart from that a loan player is the only option and they are notorious for lacking motivation for the team. any other suggestions?
