His first game for two years lasted for ten minutes. He signed an 18 month contract with Como (tough life eh) back in January. Players from both teams including Kyle Walker pleaded with the ref not to send him off. It was from behind with studs showing, so by the letter of the law he had to go. It looked an accident though.
Good to see him back playing. Hopefully, he'll get more game time after the suspension. I don't think it was malicious (especially on his ex England buddy Loftus-Cheek) but like you say it's a red card in today's game.
Such a soft red. Is it really a red? It'll look loads worse when slowed down but... Maybe it's just cause it's not a great picture on my phone but didn't look clear & obvious to change from a yellow Hope he sorts himself out and gets playing regular. He was exceptional for a couple of years at Spurs.
As with so many cases in the modern game, I've had to watch it several times to see a foul, let alone a yellow or red card!
Remember when Milton Keynes hit 5 past us at Oakwell (I think it was in the days under Wilson), and we pulled 3 'consolation' goals back!!. Dele was with them on loan from Tottenham at the time. And he was highly thought of then, as a possible future Premier league and England star player.
That's barely even a yellow. A complete accident and under no circumstances endangered his opponent. Crackpot decision.
I can't be the only one who agrees with the referee? He's nowhere near the ball, come in from behind, quite high, and scraped studs down the back of the lads leg. It looks intentional and he's not attempting to play the ball. It's a horrible challenge.
I was supposed to be at this game, it was originally scheduled for Sunday when we were booking the day flights 2 months ago and then when they confirmed the kick off 3/4 weeks ago they had moved it to Saturday! And we think we have got it bad in the EFL, luckily the flights went up and we didnt book.
