My last appointment today was in Sheffield....I spotted a Sheff utd photo on the wall so we got on about football..I mentioned my team was Barnsley...I asked how he thought they'd go on next season...he replied saying he thinks they'll walk the league..I asked who there was there best player...then to my amazement he said that Harry maguire was by far the best player in the league IF NOT THE COUNTRY!!!! I absolutely kid you not...I know little on the blunts but I heard he's wasn't that good!!!
When he goes to Wolves in the next few weeks it'll be 'no big miss', 'we've got better coming through' and 'he was slow on the turn anyway'
Obviously I havent seen much third division football in recent years to form much of an opinion about Harry Maguire, what I have seen though, I really don't understand all the hype? He's a centre half who's scored a couple of goals, I really think the majority of the hype has come from him being a local lad. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
I've seen quite a bit of Maguire and local rivalries aside I have to say he's a good player with an excellent football brain at that level. Not quite the Beckanbauer theft are making out but a tidy laiker.
If he's that good, he'd have been snapped up by the PL now, and if he's any good he'd have been in the Championship. Hence my conclusion is - he can't be that good.
Bit touchy. I was merely pointing out that he'd indeed been a BFC laiker. You already knew that by the looks of it. Fair enough. No real need for the tone of your response.
Bearing in mind he is still only twenty one? He's a decent laiker and will be more than capable at championship level. And let's be right, sheff utd can wax lyrical about their academy as it's produced more than ours! Oh and we released McGuire as a bairn...
