Got in touch with a contact I know in NE, was Everton's youth scout before following his gaffer to Blackburn. Basically anyone who's anyone up there comes under his radar, here's what he had to say: Mr Knight – lefty, good touch, passing choices & options – will take most set pieces – slightly one paced. Not the tallest at around 5ft 7 / 8 – known to get wound up easily and can leave a silly foot in – should do ok in the championship. Might take him for first goal scorer – will shoot from long range. That's an extract from an actual scout report hence the slightly odd phrasing. Another guy I know says he's mates with Nile Ranger, hopefully just winding me up. Reading Chronicle Live from last year, it appeared his future was there and high hopes. Might just need to find his way back via us. Cannot knock a young Geordie, they are brought up to play proper football up there.
