In his post-match comments, Davey said that in Dennis, Moore and Foster he had the foundations of a good squad in defence.

I was really hoping Souza would be going this summer, but that doesn't sound too promising.

Why? I've been on Souza's back abit this season but hes decent back up to Foster and Moore, i'd keep him as a squad member anyway!

no pace, only one foot, poor positional sense/marking, rubbish haircut.

I would like to see us get a central defender with a bit of pace. Anytime our defence is exposed without a defensive midfielder they get taken to the cleaners.

No pace - neither has Moore.
One foot - Moore can't kick full stop!
Poor positional sense - i don't think he hardly ever loses a header.

Don't get me wrong he has been poor at times this season but when he plays alongside Foster they seem to complement each other life Foster and Moore do, it's just when Moore and Souza play together disaster striker and i think hes took most of the blame.

Think your being a tad too harsh there myself.

You make him sound like a liability!

Overall, I think he has been a great signing for us.

He's made quite a few appearances this season - and the defensive record has not really been our biggest problem.

    Ive Always Rated Souza

I'd be sorry if we let him leave especially with him saying he wanted to stay at Barnsley yes he's dropped afew clangers but doesn't every centre half?

I think compared to some of the recent centre halfs Reid, Carbon, Ireland & Kay Denis pisses all over them

He's Been A Good Un For Us

He's played his part over the past two seasons in keeping us in this league and was a very good free signing considering the large amount of games he's played.

Bit harsh that. He's a decent squad player and plays much better alongside Foster than Moore. I'd keep him as back-up.

    I love Souza.

I'd be really sorry to see the back of him.

The first time I saw him - in that friendly at Millmoor - I decided he was a psychotic legend. My opinion hasn't changed. Please stay!

He's a decent enough squad player

not quite up to b e first choice and not to be partnered with Moore. I would hope we would look for someone with more pace as first choice if we are to progress though having said that the defence is not our weakest area.

Prone to the odd **** up as well as the odd magnificent performance.

    Not as good as Nyatanga

...but I don't think that our biggest problem is centre back. We need to sort out this scoring more than one goal per game thing.

I'd like us to sign a up and coming young center half with pace as a bit of back up, someone for the future. Think next season will be big Darren's last season at the club. As already said the Foster's partnership works well both ways, with either Moore or Souza.

    You're all mad

    All stations to Barking!

Souza is great. Hassell is a contender for player of the year. Foster is a contender for player of the year. Moore is a rock. Blimey, we must be Chelsea at the back.

We conceded nearly 60 goals, and without Colace protecting the snail-like central defence, it would have been a 100. Yet we don't have a problem in defence.

I reckon thatshould just about do it. See you all next year!
