I see Paul Hayes notched another quality goal... tum te tum...

Thought Saturday was Souza's best game for us. Still think his reading of the game needs to improve, but suppose that will come with more experience of the English game.
Steve Foster, wish we'd signed him a long time ago - goes about his defensive duties with the minimum of fuss, but is effective. Put in a quality cross for 'Love it' to notch as well.

As tall composed centre halves go Souza looks as close as we're going to get. won just about everything in the air, calm on the ball and brings assurance and confidence on set pieces. Him and Muller seem to have answered the problem we had with high balls into the box, defensively I was very impressed. Going forward, we wont get 15 goals from any of our strikers, but that might not be too much of a problem if our midfield players can keep notching. Mostto will need another 10 games before we see the best of him, hope we can be patient.
They all need time to settle. Get the ball to Mostto in the box and he'll notch. His close control is excellent but he was coming deep on Saturday so of course, was fckin rubbish.
McPhail should have been Doolan'd straight away on Saturday. Still, McCann outplayed him...
Mind, I want Barnsley to lose sithi so come on Bristol City.

RE: They all need time to settle. competition for places, McCann will need to do better to keep his place, Devaney is an option on the left, good to see his positive attitude towards being on the bench, wonder if they'll all share that view come December....
RE: They all need time to settle. I'd try Werling in McCann's place. Think he wouldn't get drawn infield as much as McCann. But would also like to see Devaney out there, cos we had no option on the left side Saturday.
Players like JCR will not be world beaters every week so if I was Devaney I'd be a tad aggrieved if JCR kept his place with another few performances like Saturday.
Odething needs a rest an'all.

however................... if it hadn't been for Mossto's abysmal first touch to lose the ball in the first place they wouldn't have had the chance-Davey should remind him he's a goalscorer so stay UP FRONT-we've plenty of midfielders
RE: As tall composed centre halves go Its whether we get 15 goals between them thats my worry.
Like you say though as long as the midfield keep scoring then it isnt a problem.

For shame Well hung stallion agreeing with fat , old git :- http://www.barnsleyfc.org.uk/bbs/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=84239&mid=541647#M541647 That's your street cred down the drain in da 'hood .
None of the strikers give me confidence at the moment. Ferenczi can't have been 100% fit this season. Odajayi doesn't use it upper body enough to hold the ball up, and tries to walk it in. Think he needs more belief in himself. Mostto coming too deep, and played too far apart from Odajayi. Kim, not really seen him yet but can't be ready if not getting a game.
I was gobsmacked At how many people were biting when you went fishing . Dragon Tyke would be proud of you .
What can you say ? One born every minute.
DT needs to calm his posts down. Just pop an odd one here and there at the right time. It's easy really.
