The fat lady is warming up. Heads in the noose, Quicksand up to the shoulders, use whichever metaphor you want but LEEDS ARE GOING DOWN
Denial, pure and simple You can't expect him to accept relegation at this stage, but he's seriously overestimating their chances of survival.
Good old Dennis

RE: Denial, pure and simple You wouldnt expect anything else from a manager, just like you wouldnt expect Davey to proclaim were stoppin up after Monday Night. But, Ill repeat it because it gives me goosebumps....... LEEDS UNITED ARE GOING DOWN
It's so funny, Leeds hate Chelsea ............. ....... with a passion, always have done, since at least 1970 anyway, then along comes none other than Ken Bates, Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet as their saviours ........and what happens, they take them down to the 3rd Division, oh how I will piss myself laughing when their fate is finally confirmed ....... I work in Leeds, have done for the last ten years and they have had hours of fun taking the piss out of me for following 'shitty little Barnsley', so I have waited for this moment for so long ..... then the fixtures will come out in June, and it will be even funnier!!
he's maintained that attitude all season - trying to keep a positive spin on things i think he knows deep down that it is going to take a massive effort for them to stay up.
RE: It's so funny, Leeds hate Chelsea ............. I hate Leeds. They have been successful, but I cant stand teams who think they have a divine right to carry on being succesful because they were in the past. Nottingham Forest are the same, and wensdi. Tell you something else too, there not coming out in a hurry. Took us 4 seasons, Forest at least 2, and Bradford, Huddersfield, Millwall and Crewe will be there for a while yet. Even if we go down it wont be so bad if they come with us, I cant wait to hear the Leeds fans complain when they have drawn their opening game of the season at home to Bournemouth. BRING IT ON..................
Its a reality check for all those Barnsley folk supporting them. They make me sick. I cannot understand anybody living and brought up in Barnsley not supporting the local team.
RE: Not being funny but nobody's down yet Weve a far better chance than they have, at least ours is in our own hands...
Because Leeds are a "big" club ! You get Lots of Leeds supporters in Bradford as well . Why don't they support Bradford for example T**SERS
RE: It's so funny, Leeds hate Chelsea ............. I don't think Forest were like that though. And how come you included Crewe? Traditionally in the bottom 2 divisions
RE: It's so funny, Leeds hate Chelsea ............. Forest were so like that, we won the European cup in 1980, what we doing here, all that stuff. What we doing coming to this shithole. All comments from their fans on the way out of the game at Oakwell last year. The point im trying to make with Crewe and Millwall is once you go down its very hard to get back. As we know.
RE: It's so funny, Leeds hate Chelsea ............. But we were almost as bad as well. I think comments from their fans were directed more towards their board, of course their fans will question what has happened to put them were they are, even more so if they've twice won the European Cup. The Leeds fans I've spoke to haven't been saying they shouldn't be where they are on merit and if they are relegated many will think that they deserve to be there on merit (or lack of it), the anger is directed toward the board and previous boards as to what as gone wrong to put them in that position. Much like we did when we got relegated
RE: It's so funny, Leeds hate Chelsea ............. Its natural I suppose. Big club, loads of History, but there is this mentality that they shouldnt be there because of all that. To be honest, I think its good for the game. Every club should get a reality check every now and again to appreciate how good it is to be on top. Look at us, we would be happy to survive in the Championship this year and Hendrie, Bassett, Anderson, Machin all left when we were in a better position than we are now.
