What is the best World cup Team you remember seeing.

For me the best ever was the Brazilian cup winning side of 1970.

Thankfully I do not remember anything of the 66 event. LOL

Have to agree about Brazil 1970 unfortunately I don't remember 1966 either and to be honest only really remember the 70 s side with the benefit of replays etc

Best side I've seen that didn't win was the Dutch total football side 1978

    Shenk You Don't Know?

FFS you should have lived in Scotland for the past 48 years. We've had it thrust down our throats ever since. Hence the hatred of England. :)

For me, it'd be between the Italian and German sides of 1990. The former (Vialli, Zenga, Giannini, Baresi, Baggio, Schillaci) were robbed against Argentina, and other than against that same dirty side and of course the English, Germany were such a force that year. And still won it. Klinsmann, Mattahus, Brehme, Hassler, Voller, Ilgner etc.

I've been impressed by the Dutch many times, 1998 and this year especially, and I have to say the 2002 Brazil side with Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Ronaldo was some team.

I'd like to add that the 1970 World Cup Final of 1970 was the first game of football I had seen on a colour TV.

TBH I do remember the picture was quite **** but at the time it was something special. It remains in my memory as a great occasion as does the moon landings a year earlier.

For me it is the '82 Brazil side. I remember the '78 Holland side who were good but I was hypnotised by the brilliance of the likes of Zico, Falcao, Eder and Socrates in '82. For me '82 is the best world cup ever.

Got to agree that Brazil 70 were the best.

But as I remember 1966, I must mention Portugal who had some fantastic players. Also the Hungary team that demolished Brazil that tournament.

Oh and England weren't that bad either Ian! ;)

The 1970 Brazil team is the best I've seen, with for me the greatest ever footballer (Pele), playing in the best tournament. As for the best team not to win a World Cup, it's a toss up for me between the 1974 Dutch team (including the second greatest footballer in Johan Cruyff) & the 1982 Brazilian side.
This current tournament is the most entertaining I've seen since 1982 and certainly the most open.

Brazil 2002 for me, Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Ronaldinho et al were fantastic. First world cup I properly watched as well so fond memories of that team.

Although they didn't win it, the Magyars of the pre-soviet invasion.

I agree with this man. Though I've only seen them on video. Same with the Brazil 1970 team.

2002 Brazil. Feel sorry for Oliver Kahn the German keeper though. Him and Rustu for Turkey were giants between the sticks. Brazil deserved it though with their team

Argentina looked brilliant in 2006 in the group stages, remember that team goal with the 25 passes but then they had the misfortune to meet Germany and lost on penalties, great team though.

France 98 winners. Barthez, Petit, Viera, Henry, Lizarazu, Blanc, Pires, Zidane etc I could mention the whole squad.
