Came from villa with great expectations on him, did OK in lower league but can't remember owt abart him after he left t'well Tommy Graham that is
alan clarke to start with then Tommy graham a while ago a i was talking to a lad wearing a admiral 1978 promotion shirt with 9 on the back and i said tommy grahams shirt how did you get that , he answer was its my dad and he will ****ing kill me if i damage it that. He also said said he had an Arthur graham scotland cap nice kid
Bell was fantastic in div 4 but the step do 3 was too much for him could not believe how good he was in the promotion season and how bad he was in the division higher
Tommy Graham still lives at Ardsley I beleave...As for Bell, top player saw his debut at Newport where he scored... wont it just injuries that did for him..cant remember him doing owt when he left us..
Think he might have gone back to Halifax, great player in that promotion season. But no comparison to where ended up a year later with aylott and Parker
We sold him to Lincoln. Record fee for them. He was banging them in for Lincoln just like he did for us, but then he broke his leg and never rediscovered that same form.
Its a few years ago now, but when I knew him he was attending a Jobclub I ran and was he hoping to train as a Chiropodist.
I've got two specialised subjects: conkers and Derek Bell. I've just hit it lucky today that they've both come up. What are the chances! I'll go months now without being able to answer a thing.
Remember the pre-match warm up at Hull City in 1979 (Saturday 17 November 1979, seen as you ask). Derek Bell banging in practice shots and an unwary teenage girl selling pop and crisps from her usherette tray wandering into range. A stray exocet from Derek Bell hit the poor lass. She went crashing down and a cloud of cheese and onion flew up into the air. She was in tears. He was terribly apologetic. (We won 2-0).
