The refs assessor has just said about the Suarez incident yesterday. It should be a free kick but not a pen as it wasn't in the box it was on the line. Firstly, Suarez was in the box when contact occurred with where his feet where and, if it's on the line it's classed as a pen and in the box. Very worrying coming from the main assessor in referees.
I think that referees are to blame for a lot. They have the laws but will not apply them. How much shirt pulling and pushing do we see in the penalty area every game? To say that it is a mans game is wrong, it is simply cheating.
He said on the shirt pulling one that it wasn't a pen because the ref didn't see it. Said defenders need to hold players shorts as refs look for space and not holding or something like that. He later mentioned it should have been a pen if Suarez doesn't make something if it. I watched the game and Rodgers was right Liverpool got nothing all game.
The shirt pulling should be a penalty. It's a foul. Suarez made a meal of it but I genuinely think that players think they need to do so to draw the refs attention to the foul otherwise there is no chance of it being given as a foul, even though it is one. Agree that Liverpool got nothing all game. The offside against Sterling is one of the worst decisions ever, what was the linesman looking at? The officials in the Newcastle v Stoke game were worse.
Yeah he said on the Rooney one if thats a red card you'd get them every game. And when asked if he though Rooney was lucky not to get at least 2 yellows he said no.
I made comments the other day that the standard of Officials at present is atrocious. They have tools such as the laws but have nov idea how to use them. If it was not serious you could really laugh at the comedy of errors every week. Managers should be allowed their point of view without being fined, after all it is their job that is on the line
