For the main part I thought we were in good voice yesterday and really got behind the team!!! The flare throwing aside I thought we backed the lads yesterday and made a bit of noise. Why is it not like that at home all the time? We as fans can play a really big role in getting the lads through tough parts of games by being that twelfth man and giving them a lift when they need it most. Is there a way we can get the atmosphere going each and every game? I know there has been talk of getting timerider back when the players come out. I'd like to see the big flag going across the crowd again like it used to. Who owns it? Anyone else got any ideas?
If we do see the return of the flag can the owner please give it a wash. It feckin stank to high heavens. The smell stuck to your hands and lingered.
But does it make a big difference though? Coventry play in front of 2k home fans at Northampton and don't think they have lost a match
Jam Drop I heard a few new ones yesterday albeit a couple we Wednesday/Jones specific. The two McCourt ones, Pedersen drone and 'when I was young...' Kind of new last couple of months. Mix with a few old ones which I admit was hard to start as was so noisy, we got a few now
The Jones one is a disgrace if I'm honest. He is an innocent man and should be able to leave it behind. It's low labelling someone a paedophile when they were wrongly accused.
It's a good point but circumstances there have played a big part in the season they are having. They could have gone one way or the other after what's gone on. A better atmosphere at home I believe really does help. A lot of people on here bang on about match day experience on here and I don't think there is a better one than hearing your teams fans in full voice. I understand about making the concourse pretty and a nice new shiny scoreboard but what first got me was the rattling of the seats when everyone gets up to watch us attack and the roar of the crowd backing the team. As my name says I'm from Selby and was born in York after my dad moved out here with the pits (to work till he retired....but we won't go into that) and I could have quite easily followed Leeds or Man U like my mates but there was something about everything at oakwell that I just loved and it captivated me from the first time I went against west brom in 96/97 to this very day. A smallish town like barnsley ought to be somewhere opposing teams hate coming and the crowd can play a massive part in that. It's cheesy but we are stronger together!!!!!
Which is the second McCourt song? Unfortunately I didn't manage to get to the game yesterday but the atmosphere sounded good on tv. I was having a good sing-a-long in my living room!
Haha, me too! I couldn't get the 'Don't sell McCourt' one out of my head all day and half of this morning. I don't know the second McCourt or the Pederson one? I keep watching the video of his goal on repeat, but I can't make out what people are saying.
