Despite everything, I genuinely think Morgan will be mortified to have done this to Hume

    You say that

But i'd be surprised if it wasn't on his mind, especially if Hume's out for a long time.

I don't think Morgan will change his game, but he may think twice about elbowing somebody's face in the future.

Chris Morgans time as a hero at Barnsley FC is well and truly OVER !!!

I would be very surprised if he showed his face at the WELL or even in the town ever ever again

He has delibratly just put a £1.2 million player out of action for weeks. A player we can ill afford to lose and he has done this so a Sheffield club can beat his home town club...........Chris Morgan is /poo

    I agree

Of course he will be mortified, I think anyone would be. But still, it was a horrific challenge and the club should be looking to take action.

By going in with elbows raised and swinging it into Hume's head.......

he must have known that SOME damage was possible-even if he didn't anticipate a possibly career ending injury-ban him for a long spell and sue Sheff U for every penny in compensation-they should have a few spare quid!

There's no doubt in my eyes he tried to win more than the ball

But to say that he aimed to fracture his skull... there's no way that's what he wanted.

If the FA don't look at this its a feckin joke mind. He'll be out for the season, we should be looking for compo.

Thoughts with Hume and his family.

Lets hope it's only weeks and not months. Cech was out for ages with the same injury and he's protected as a goalkeeper and wears protection on his head. Hume could be out for a long long time.

Hume won't be the same player again

At least, I'll be surprised if he is. He'll be scared of going up for headers etc

Hume seems to be the type of player that could come back stronger. Hopefully I am right.

Personally I couldn't care less what Morgan thinks or feels

The only person who matters is Iain Hume.

I'm sorry but even if he is mortified now what he did was disgusting and he must be dealt with appropriately (he won't as we all know). He lost his temper and assaulted a fellow professional. Having played football for a lot of years now I can understand how people get caught with elbows when jumping for the ball - but he stood flat on the ground and smacked him with his elbow in the face. I thought a lot of the ground must have missed it because the abuse he got was minimal and I seemed to be in the minority of people who didnt give a toss about the 'penalty' compared to that incident. It was an horrible thing to watch and baring in mind Morgan's size and strength Hume was always going to be in big trouble after that. By the way - kissing his shirt for the dee dars before throwing it into the crowd at the end was a nice touch. I would have loved him to have re-signed for us over the past couple of years - I hate him after Saturday and hope that he gets what he deserves.

    Phil

I was with you - I was more annoyed by the Morgan/Hume incident than any of the other events during that game because I had a really good view of it and saw how nasty it was.

    Normally I would

But, to be honest, all I can think of at the moment is Iain Hume being laid up in hospital with an exceptionally serious injury inflicted upon him by a fellow professional.
    Sorry.
