What a performance from Devaney today. Quality signing yet again from Ritchie. Lost count of how many times he beat his man for pace and skill. They even had to take the player marking him off after 20 minutes! Took a quality save form their keeper to stop him scoring too. We had some great chances but their keeper made some quality saves. Same can be said about Colgan who made some outstanding saves to deny Windass. Windass even clapped him. Well done Colgan. Brilliant keeper. Put it this way if we play like that against Rotherham we will hammer them. A good point away from home, still in the playoffs and a team looking destined for promotion. Well done to Ritchie and the boys + and the fans - we really got behind the lads.
I have not seen team spirit and each player working for one another like I witnessed this afternoon they were sensational. Devaney was inspired he epitomised the work ethic that Andy Ritchie and Rick Holden have instilled into the players since the beginning of the season. We might not have believed it when we were humbled by Donny some weeks ago, but since that moment we have shown a resolve that will carry us on to promotion this season. Furthermore this game was the best advert for league one football this season, great skill, chances at both ends, (more reds than Bradford), wonderful support from the away fans and a brilliant atmosphere. When we come to vote for the MOTM, Devaney will win by a mile, but in my opinion we saw 10/11 heros today!!!
Have to agree 100%. They were first class all day but god knows what the ref saw to send Howard off. 10 mins later Hayes was pushed in the back in the area should have been a penalty, and he didnt see it!!! I would appeal against the red card. The team were awesome today, Carbon was excellent when he came on and the fans were superb.
Always thought he was a bt lightweight meself but he seems to be growing in confidence game by game. With Shukes & Devaney in full flow we've got pace and width which has been sadly lacking in the past.
