Devaney snapped up

By GRAHAM NICKLESS
BLACKPOOL are poised to snap up Barnsley winger Martin Devaney this week for £150,000.
The Seasiders are taking advantage of a special clause in his contract, allowing him to move for a knock-down price.

RE: gotta be ********... Maybe were going to play a formation that Devaney does not fit into. If he does go Blackpool have a bargain.
Oh god i hope so! I'd take £1.50 for him.
If were serious about improving as a team, i'm afraid Devaney has to go.

They've just lost Hoolahan for only £250k and are trying to sign Dickov. Let's hope there isn't any substance in the Devaney rule 'cos some people seem to have a lot more confidence in this French guy than I do! Especially given that he's a left back.
http://www.tribalfootball.com/article.php?id=100241

I, for one, would be very sad to see him go. His performances in the league in the second half of the season were way below his usual standard. However, I had every confidence that the new season would see him back to his best. If this transfer story is accurate, then I wish him all the best for the future and will warmly applaud him on any future return to Oakwell.
According to BBC website on the gossip collum it says that various papers that he his set to join them Would be sad to see hiim leave one of our better players
Maybe Devaney isn't the first name on the team sheet But he's an essential part of the squad. I think it would be a step backwards letting him go. Best of luck if you leave Martin. That cross at Anfield was the best I've ever seen.
RE: Maybe Devaney isn't the first name on the team sheet Nobody seems to have mentioned Devaney's excellent work ethic or the fact, he never hides even when he is having an off day. These qualities outweigh what can sometimes be a frustrating inabililty to beat his man. BIG LOSS TO THIS CLUB - and I hope it's not true.
I agree but if he has a clause in his contract allowing him to go then there's not much the club can do other than beg for him to stay. I have a feeling that we will be playing a different formation next year. If he goes then the squad (If Moore signs as well) looks suited to 3-5-2.
RE: I, for one, would be very sad to see him go. Correct, Martin Devaney on his day is one of the best players in the Championship. His enthusiasm, work rate, and crossing of a ball is second to none. Also he comes up with some spectacular goals from time to time. I will be very sad to see him go, i hope he stays because our loss will be someone elses gain.
