Personally I think we should keep him BUT if Balckpool has triggered his release clause then we don't have a great deal of choice and to be fair to him he is unlikely to be first choice next season.

For me we always look unbalanced playing either JCR or Devaney on the left and we need a left footer. It then comes down to who will be first choice on the right and for me there's no contest. JCR is a class above. I like Devaney and on his day he can be very good but he is far too inconsistant and for every top quality cross he puts in he shanks 10 in to the stand and 10 hit the first defender.

If he stays then brilliant, he will be an able squad member, but to be fair to him if he has an offer to go to another championship club and be first choice then its only fair he is given that opportunity

Blackpool are prepared to double his wages.

That might be more to do with why he's signing. If Davey wanted to keep him then he would be offering a new contract now, he only has one year to run so he's looking to get something for him.

Swiss League and an Argie reject! Can't see it going well.

Why? Didn't he sign a new contract last season?

But would you double the wages of a squad player?

Plus, at least give the new signings a chance!!

How can we comment about the two new players, look at Souza last season he proved to be a great buy. Lets all trust Davey, he's got more signings right than wrong!

    He's the man for me......

It will be an interesting contest this season between Devaney & JCR. Both were regularly in the same side last season, this meant that one of them had to be played out of position on the left. This proved to be a problem position for us last season and other players e.g. Howard, McCann & Leon were also played there but never settled in the role. SD acknowldeged this problem and has reacted by signing a natural left footer (in El Haimour).

I feel the addition of Hume and El Haimour will only add further competition for places and improve the squad..... Roll on the new season!!

I'd rather pay Devaney more than gamble on a guy who

gets relegated from the Swiss League every season! League 2 standard.

Who you've never seen play and is at least naturally left footed

I think Devaney is ineffective on the left but on hos day very very good on the right. That said he is not as good as JCR and how do you know there's not a left winger lined up as well?

I hope he does stay and is part of the squad but I don't think we can justify doubling his wages and also don't think you should write off a player you've never even seen play

I'm naturally left footed too, but I'd still play Devaney

rather than me anyday, any position. And I wouldn't lower myself to play in the Swiss League either!

Just think its incredibley harsh to dismiss a player you've never seen play

Michael Kightly came from the conference - wouldn't you want him?

\Michael Knightly wasn't still in the Conference when he was 28!

Or being made to play left back.
