2 in 3 to 1 in 9 including 6 without a goal. When he got two in his second game for them I expected him to be banging them in on a regular basis. Instead in his other 11 games for them he's only scored one goal. I don't know if they are playing him in a different position to what he did for us, he's not enjoying himself there, he's finding his first season of pro footie long/tough etc but he's on some goal drought.

I fully expect him to be absolutely nackered. That was his problem for us.

Even though we were losing as many if not more than we were winning when he was with us we were playing attacking football & creating lots of chances for our forwards.

I'm not really sure why he was so keen to go to a club who only start 1 striker & that 1 striker is nearly always going to be Grigg meaning Cole has to be a singer or an impact sub

Perhaps I'm being a tad harsh here, but I don't rate him much to be honest. I think he's one of a growing number of footballers who's pace disguises a worrying lack of footballing ability and actual end product. Yes he's young and undoubtedly he gave us a penetrative edge we've probably missed to some extent, but I don't see him as anything particularly special.

I think he looked promising. A lot of pace, but lacking composure.

He could make a good championship level forward with a bit of experience & good coaching.

    Certainly not a finished product.

Correct. I remember listening to an interview with an ex pro and an ex manager (I can't remember who) and they both said that this new phenomenon of tiredness is all a myth but that if enough people keep saying it then it will become believed. They live a very privileged life and there do seem to be a lot of excuses given why these well paid athletes can't perform once or sometimes twice a week.

Completely agree. It's like pace is the first attribute people look for in a footballer. Look at Alex Kiwomya?! Absolutely shocking. You can't tell me if he was a bit slower he would have picked up by any league club. There have been examples in the past - olisadabe, rommedahl and even good old Tony Daley. They were fast. Proper fast. But had some limited skill. Now we see way more players with pace and nothing else. Most great strikers are more than pace. Raul, Baggio, Maradonna and even the best english strikers Linekar, shearer, keegan (rooney?!) were more than pace.

Hopefully it's a phenomenon that will come and go. Brazil went down the physicality route in youth football - strength and pace - and now are getting found out on the world stage by the likes of Spain and now Germany.
