Anyone else think he was really poor last night I'm sorry but if he cannot impress against non league opposition he as problems His hold up play and first touch were terrible Young lad i know but so is Holgate and i thought he was excellent throughout
He's 17 and has been playing a lot (suspect to give us a chance of getting him on a season long loan in January). He needs a rest - think we will get him in Jan and then use him as an impact sub.
He was poor, but generally I quite like him. He has the ability and pace to cause problems, hope we keep him around.
Holgate is pure class in his own age group, and seems to be the same in the first team, templeton Bree and Cowgil look good too the futures bright
I'm sure any one of those three could be shaped into a defence that meant we didn't have to play reece brown
The injury to Winnall has out a lot of pressure on Cole and he's not particularly handling it well. Needs a goal for confidence and putting on the subs bench for a bit as soon as practical.
Brown sh1ts me up everytime he gets the ball Worse than kennedy without a shadow of a doubt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Cole has been off it for a while now. Good player but I think he needs to be used off the bench for a few games.
Everyone around me agreed that he was woeful, Bambi on ice etc. with that said he was up against two seasoned players in Brown and Charnock. He will have learnt a lot last night.
Yes i call him Bambi on ice - only got speed and thats it . Only 17 so time to improve but i for one wont be sad to see him go back to City
I like the lad, he's simply out of form at the moment in my opinion. But as has always been the case with young players, form fluctuates dramatically. At the moment, Holgate is playing exceptionally well, but a dip in form will happen. When it does, he'll come in for undue criticism from some. You only have to look at Bree, Cole, Davies & Abbott this season for examples of this. Tolerance & patience, or right here right now. I know which mantra I'll follow.
He's not 17, he'll be 20 next May. After a great start with us he's been poor for weeks. Very much doubt he has a future at top level. His first touch is poor, he isn't strong enough and he's not a natural finisher. He has great pace though and does best for us off the bench. Assuming Trotta goes back in Jan and we can shift out Lita I'd keep him on. Defo need another striker in though. Winnall getting injured has left a massive void to fill.
He's been out of form for a while, but he's still very young. He has a difficult time with his back to goal and a big central defender marking him tightly. Having said that, he presented Jennings with a very good chance in the first half, did the same for Hourihane and his dummy in the lead up to our second goal was sublime. Big question is, do we want him back in January? I'd say yes, but I'd be more inclined to use him as a sub because when he comes on against a tiring defence his pace scares the opposition to death. If we're going with 4-4-2 I'd like to see Winnall paired with either Lita or Hemmings. But my real preference would be to sign Williams, have him on one side, Jennings on the other, Winnall up front, with Bailey, Hourihane and Berry making a midfield three in 4-5-1/4-3-3 formation. Bring Cole on for the last 20 minutes whichever formation we use.
This is his first ever season of playing competitive 1st team games. I think he's played 18 times ? This sort of thread typifies the abject lack of patience/context call it what you will that some people have. He's not 100% perfect every time and straight away so write him off.
I think there's real raw talent with him. I'd like him to come good with us, rather than someone else
He's going to be good there's no doubt about that. Compare him to when we had Jonathan Walters on loan and then tell me he won't make it in the Premier League.
The lads very lightweight it doesn`t take much to knock him off the ball or a slight nudge from behind and his first touch is ruined, back to goal aint suiting him, he needs the ball in space and then to run at em this is where he looks at his best, teams have also put extra men close to him to snub out any threat, after his successful start, now Jennings is looking more confident teams will have to do the same to him which may give Cole a bit less attention and more freedom. For a youngster time is on his side and he will strengthen up with age, I would be looking to extend his loan.
