Everyone you do realise that finishing midtable and plus 50 points will be a good season for us! Yes we have started well however at some point we will go on a run of games where we might not pick up points. This season is about consolidation im not being negative just realistic.
This will light the touchpaper... ...don't disagree but being ever the optimist myself, this side (barring injuries) should be capable of a mid table finish at least.
Yes I'd settle for that don't want the relegation battle this season but the Championship is a good league with some decent sides and if we play to a good standard and finish reasonably high up I would'nt mind.
What kind of start would you want us to have to expect more? You have to take your chances when they come along.
Unless we have a nightmare run of injuries/suspensions we should be challenging for the Play-Offs at least all season.

The loss of this forum would be disappointing, with respect to the loss of form , I think we had that in the 1st few games this season when we were utter **** and played the stupid 5-3-2 crap.
Why so negative?
Why do we have to have another loss of form at some stage?

Then we'll get site admin to fix it! (sorry, couldn't resist) I've said it before and no doubt I'll say it again - middle third of the table will be a good result this year. Anything else is a bonus. But that doesn't mean we can't enjoy being in the play-offs for now or that we think we've got a divine right to be there. But it's fun putting a few people's noses out of joint too. And that loss of form might not be so long as the runs of form. You never know. Oh, and I type slowly. Hence repeating what other people said 5 minutes before. Sorry about that.
That's the way I'm looking at it at the moment It's about gaining the points not to drag us into a relegation battle. Maybe if at end of January we are still in this position I might start thinking about the possibility of promotion but not going to get carried away at the moment, strange how only last week some of those same people talking of a promotion push were criticising Bristol City fans for saying the same on their message board!
On that note , would you be happy if we won the next 13 games to get to 55 points ,enough to avoid relegation then we went on to lose 23 on the spin to end the season?
No but at the sametime i can see somepeople on here if we lost 3 games on the bounce calling for Davey's head. Yes we have started well, yes im pleased, im not being negative, im just asking saying peoples expectations shouldnt be too high, remember Luton last year!
RE: On that note , No I wouldn't because from getting the points to avoid relegation you then reassess your aims
If we lost 3 in a row from the position we have gotten ourselves I dont think it would be a problem as we have seen that the players are capable of playing so I would think it would be accepted as a temporary thing.
We're 34 points from safety Once we get to 50 we can see how long is left in the season, and make a decision from there as to where we're likely to end up.
snap your hand off for mid table and its not being negative or defeatist..... just realism that we may end up an run like burnley last year at some stage.... for now im proper enjoying the good times tho !!
They're all thinking that mate. This division's wide open. Strike while the iron's hot, we might not get another chance like this.
I remember posting into a thread well before the start of the season and I said mid table would be a positive season for us. Looking at the team now, I believe that we are better than mid table and should finish in the top third. I freely admit to being optimistic at all times when it comes to BFC and possible achievements but I honestly believe that we have what it takes this season. Get to 50 and push to 80+
Makes no difference - remember Thordarsson His biggest mistake was getting us top of the table ... we drifted to 8th or 9thand he got the bullet.
I don't doubt there was some boardroom stuff in the background, but there were certainly plenty of fans shouting for it to happen
Not suggesting we'll sack Davey if that happens, but I'd fully expect a vocalsection of thefans to be souding off and questioning Davey's position if we drop to a comfortable mid-table and 50 points come February/March.
