Thought we'd have discusswed this a bit more on here ... still hitting the headlines .... a further example of football selling its soul .... IMHO, he's a TW@T .... and I hope Subderland go down and he never gets another job.
LOL ...I met and shook the hand of David Cameron (at Hoylandswaine Village Hall when he was electioneering) ... nice guy, but still a Tory TW@T BTW .... saw Di Canio shopping on Argyl Street when he was a Celt .... It was OK to like him then, as this was prior "Roman" salute
As I've said in a another post his politics will be quickly forgotten if he wins games and keeps them up.
The reality is that "football writers" don't fill column inches writing about the day to day goings on at Swindon Town (that said Di Canio STILL did make headlines at STFC)..... whereas Sunderland are under the microscope ...... hence the recent media scrum .... still by employing a self confessed fascist SAFC are either sending a two fingered salute to their community/working class roots, or is a major oversite/gaff/own goal ..... his 1st press conference did nowt to dampen the flames ..... he appears to be a time tomb waiting to go off .... as stated .... I'm suprised the appointment of a self confessed fascist to a high profile, highly renuminated PL job, has not stimulated more discussion on here .... maybe it is the trait of the football fan to have their head up there @rse?
Hate him Should have been sent off against us at Swillsbro in the Prem and scored the winner in injury time, tw*t.
Sorry can't agree that he's a Tw*t. Regardless of his politics I recall in 2000 he displayed a (very rare IMHO) example of sportsmanship so lacking in the modern game when he gave up the opportunity to score by catching the ball due to an opponent lying injured on the floor. Can't be all bad then.
The argument about it not being important if he wins games is completely wrong. It gives the impression that football is more important than anything else. Yes, he's entertaining. Yes he displayed great sportsmanship back in the day. But fundamentally he belives in a political system that is associated with racism and nation and person displacement - getting rid of the weak to allow the strong to prosper. There was plenty of outrage when he took over at Swindon. GMB withdrew their sponsorship. It's just now he's got a national stage so rightly people are worried that him being in that position will promote his views.
"he belives in a political system that is associated with racism and nation and person displacement - getting rid of the weak to allow the strong to prosper". Exclude the bit about racism and its like the politics practised by Osborne, Cameron and IDS then
Not much difference with Communism and Facism is there? Would be interesting if he declared association to Castro.
Not at all imho. Fascism can be complicated when looking at its core beliefs, some of which sit quite nicely in certain Communist regimes of the past, and possibly present...but it's a nicer, easier headline if he's labelled right wing.
