Did anyone on here go to HMS Ganges or have a relative that did.

I've lost a bunch of pictures and i am after one of the old mast. Was telling the grandkids about climbing the mast every wednesday and that last 12 feet or so that broke your heart when you tried to get to the button. Took me 10 weeks but i got there. then every wednesday after, i swear you could see Holland from there..but it turned out to be Felixstowe ............. LOL

 

My uncle was at Ganges in 1942 but didn't have any photos, I'm afraid. He told me about the mast - glad I never had to do it!

Think i have visited most sites

joined a few associations etc but there was a fella called Fisk who used to take pics and charge you silly money for them and he always had good ones of the mast and the covered ways etc...... would have been interesting to see if anyone had any.
