He seemed to have glint in his eye when he mentioned playing his "ex employers" next weekend. I don't know what went on but get the impression he would talle delight in sending us down? Hope not but it seemed that way to me!

i don't think they'll be as gung ho as they could have been. knowing they only need a point, and losing could still relegate them, will probably make them slightly nervy. at least we know we have to just go and play for win, could help

No change there then. He always said we were a League 1 side.
He didn't have confidence in his own players. One of the laziest managers this club have had. Management by post it notes.

I bet his mate, "Farting Contest" Holden will be hoping for the same.

You're mixing Robins and Ritchie up.

You were always pretty critical of Ritchie as I recall but let's face facts here, he got us promoted, so can only ever be considered as a success.

I noticed the glint too...or is that in our heads?
never liked Robins as a manager, particularly his second season...but he did have the ability to dog out a result in a poor game of football

Yes he didnt seem to want to do us any favours - not that I would expect him to - wouldnt it be a shame if we win and the results conspire to send him down - now that would be funny - that said I would still rather millwall or the fowls went down than Huddersfield

With that glint in his eyes and Flickers words going round in my head ,quote :
I wanted to get to last game of season with a chance of survival asThere's a reason why we are paying Huddersfield last game of seaon :unquote.
If there's any justice Millwall or Wendy will go down

He was told his working conditions were to change considerably. As an high ranking manager within a multimillion pound company he requested time to consider the proposals and was promptly handed his notice.

After he left the managing director went on to admit that his replacement hadnt had these changes imposed on him.

the way i understood it, he was told he would need to operate within a reduced budget, he threw his toys out and so was served his notice.

    They agreed to them.
Keith Hill does not agree deals. Flitcroft the same.
I would guess the high earners at the club were here when Mark Robins was the manager

I know. But to listen to the word from the club know you'd think they didn't have a clue until the wages went in...

A glint in his eye? Are you saying he showed some form of emotion/personality? Surprising.

A club that needed continually underwriting by 3m each year by the owner, is not a multi-million pound company. In any other industry that would be call insolvent.

Mark Robins resigned from BFC, he was unhappy about that '3m' disappearing from the operational budget and part of that economy drive was to invoke a clause in his contract, effectively reducing it to a 12 month fixed term. Renewable, as with the one his successor was handed and designed to limit the compensation the club would have to pay out if he was sacked. Given what this has cost us over the years, it was a wise move. It was the new economic facts of life that we had all been warned were coming, as Don again mapped out last week when he revealed the contingency plan for relegation. Robins didn't like it and he walked. It was a bit naive of him, he'll have learned since.
