Did anyone win a decent amount after Wilson was confirmed as manager?

Personally I never saw it coming so didn't put any money on him, even though now it seems like exactly the right appointment. Don't know why but I hope that's justified after the Christmas fixtures.

I honestly thought our board would have used their own connections to fill the position or gone for someone of Warnock's ilk - maybe they tried but anyway, onwards and upwards.

I think Wilson will get us back to playing the type of football that gets the crowd going. Apart from occasions during the back end of last season, there has been no atmosphere at all.

Even though we shouldn't look to the past too often, little things like bringing back the Timerider theme tune before kick-off might just get the crowd warmed up a bit as well. It's not exactly a musical masterpiece, but it reminds us of the good times and people clap to it, I barely notice the theme tune these days...is it White Stripes or summat?

I genuinely wonder what proportion of fans that attend home games regularly these days have a clue what time rider is.

I suppose if it had never gone away then it would have been synonymous with our entrance for all home fans but it's been so long now, how many would it actually mean anything to?

Yes people who know it from before would clap and that would encourage others to join in, but you can clap to most things, people just don't seem bothered these days. It wouldn't be the same now anyway if we did, what with the ground hardly ever more than half full.

Had £100 last night at 4/7 when I knew it was definitely on. Also had an early £10 at I think 6/1. Over a ton in profit. :)

Almost had a tickle at 9s, kicking myself for not taking it now. Would have been a nice little win but not quite the 33s I got on Flicker getting appointed!

couldnt get my bet on the flicker sacking when i went to put it on before the brum game (was gonna lump 50 on it) and was then gonna use the winning to lump on danny. Could have won a tidy little sum! ah well. It could have not panned out like that. Im just pleased to have danny boy back! :)

I tried to get on him being next manager sacked at 10s but I was abroad and HSBC had stopped my card. The b*stards.

Same. When Don went alot was made of the contacts Watkins/Mansford must have. Yet we go for a manager who if Don was still around to appoint him would have been slagged off for going for a cheap option.

I wondered that too. Does Stan, Fred or William ring Ben up and ask him for the short-list and who they interviewed.

Was gonna have a few quid on him the other day at 5/2 but saw it as too much of a risk for a relatively small return.

Think that only applies when a caretaker manager is in charge, they pay out on an official manager being named or a caretaker manager being in charge for ten games

Made about £150 on him. I put a few bets on just after he got sacked. BetVictor really quickly had Mellon at 40-1 and Danny at 9-1. I lumped more on when someone on here mentioned that Sky Bet had slashed the odds to 4/7 when Victor and stan james still had 6/4. I think Sky had insider knowledge and I wish I'd put more on but that's just greedy. Some easy money, thanks to the guy who brought the sky odds up in a thread.
