Ok. it happened in Lincolnshire
at a place called Scampton
a well know Militasry air base
on this day Sunday,some years ago
near by is the Lincolnshire show ground
and once a year Radiohams have a festival ther
a friend of mine an ex RAF chappie
who now was a gliding club member
said .we willl call at the Gliding club
and seemy friends(he was a radio ham)
the weather was ,gettin duler all the time
and Scampton was the residence of the RED ARRROWS
you have heard of them im sure

so of we goes.with the weather worsening all the time
we gets on Drome at Scampton
and there,was these big American Fuel tanker planes
massive they were
my friend takes me to the glinding club
they have an old bus
as a control centre and a plce for a cppa

after a few minutes, it is now raining
the Red Arrrows are landing
what a soght one after the other you could see thier lights refelcting on the wet runway

BUT,out side like kids were these Yanks
with thier cameras
one was the general
he turned to me ever so excited

WOW he Say did you ever see anything so spectacular
he was so excited and wet thro in the pouring rain
