Did I hear this right?? (Could've misheard)

Did I hear McCann say that he met the Caretaker Manager at the weekend?
Could've got it wrong cos they skipped thru the interview, but at the time I thought - "How come Davey was talking to players before Ritchie was sacked?"

 

Could he have been scouting him? nt

He could have been negotiating but AR said no to a transfer?

 

I think he said he'd met him (Simon Davey bloke) today and seemed a nice chap.
