The incident where he got cut he got flattened in the original challenge but then their player stamped on him whilst he was on the floor. Long after the ball had gone. Everyone mentions an elbow but what about the fact he was trodden on.
Stamp happened right in front of where I sit and I suspect it was that which caused the damage. How the linesman never saw it beats me.
It wasn't a stamp I don't think. He elbowed him which should have been a straight red and then stumbled backwards over the laid out winnall and accidentally I think stood straight on his face above his eyes. It looked accidental but due to his backwards swinging elbow taking him off balance
Fair play to Sam though. Never let it bother him and still didn't shy away from a header when many others would have. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
Here's O'Neil's view of the event: http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/gary-o...ll-bloodied/story-29851660-detail/story.html?
From where I was sat in East Upper it definitely looked like a swinging arm which sent Winnall down to start with. Damage might have been caused by him coming down on top of him - but I think reaction of players on pitch suggest they saw a swinging arm too. Whether it was deliberate or just trying to leverage a jump only he will know - but it certainly looked bad from where I was sat. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
