Nailed on goal, 90th minute - Reidy sorts it?

Reidy lost the ball in the first place

    right decision either way.

    sounded like it

The question is are we happy that we are resorting to cheating (professional fouls) to ensure we get a point.

It certainly sounded like it to me. He may have got himself into trouble in the first place and it may be totally cynical but even so, if we make the play-offs by the odd point or two then it was a crucial snap decision.

Well - in a way, you pay penalties for such misdemeanours, so they are part of the game.

If that's the case and you can afford to lose a player for a few games, why not?

A bit like sacrificing a Rook to save the Queen [IMG]

But - I know what you mean.

Iv'e noticed over the last half dozen games that Reid has been taking chances by dribbling the ball clear when bombing the ball forward would be less risky.

Against Southend he nearly lost possession at least twice by being too elaborate. He needs to learn when to play football and when to hoof it. Kays seems to have got that part of his game right.

    Analogy from cricket ...

Bad and good decisions even themselves out over a season.

If you play by the rules all the time you will be **** upon on average.

Reidy did right because we got a point.

    But

Would it have been worth it if we lose the game/s he is suspended?

    RE: But

Point taken but we have Hassell, Carbon as cover. That 1 point may make all the difference.

What the f... do I know I live in Germany but I'm Barnsley to the core and I just want us to do well.

I presume it is a 3 match ban, so would that make available for the second leg of the Play-Off Semi or, God willing, the Final?

    Yes! He did the"honourable" thing!!!

Having f8cked up big style, he gave up his presence for the next two games to help preserve a point.

I'm not suggesting that what he did was right, but he knew he'd made a mistake and made sure we didn't instantly pay for it. Absolutely a "professional" foul.

He would certainly have been slated more...

If he'd let Parker run through and he'd scored, whereas he wouldn't have been slated if he hadnt made the error.

So clearly, he just took middle ground! :)
