I had a look at Bristol Parkway

2 trains per hour - OK going as they were 30 mins apart
coming back not great though as they leave withing 5 mins of each other

if you want exact timings and prices or trains from bristol centre http://www.thetrainline.com has them

Also if you want to stay in Bristol you can get the train from Bristol Central... Think they are more regular and there is a Holiday Inn Express (www.holidayinn.co.uk) and CityInn (www.cityinn.com) spitting distance away from the station... Think they both have carparking. When I looked the holidayinn was about £80 the cityinn was £65 for the room.
