    Did we deserve the win?

I know there's probably hundreds of posts already covering this, but that's the trouble, there's millions of them and I'm a bit too pissed to wade through them all.

    Your man scored again.

Best strike partnership I've seen in the last ten years at Oakwell: Dagnall and Harewood v Leeds.

I don't for a minute think they can play like that every week, but if they've done it once they can do it again. Wouldn't care a jot if Flitcroft fails to get any new players in and we go with what we've got. I think we've got a better chance of escaping relegation with the players we've got than if we bring in loan players. Dagnall may not be all that, but give me him over someone going through the motions any day of the week.

I very much doubt we'd get him and even if we do I'd fully expect him to play like he doesn't give a ****.

I've seen enough loan players over the years to know that 90% of the time they're not worth the bother. There's been some exceptions (Chopra, Drinkwater, Curtis) but for every one of those we have to suffer ten numpties.

I agree, the players that are in the club now are the ones that will keep us safe or take us down. I think we have to realise that and get on with the job. If we have some luck in the loan window, a player who will prevent or create a few goals, then great! In our experience, loan deals haven't generally paid off, let's support the lads in tenure and whoever else arrives. Our heads are up, so let's get those vital points sooner rather than later. I'm already budgeting for as many games as I can attend and for me, that is not cheap. We are good enough, come on lads!

My opinion is that Flicker may find it difficult to get players in because he dosent seem to have the salesmans touch.
However, if he does manage to bring players in that have quality then he will get the most out of them - those players will not be lanquishing on the bench.

Nudge, where do you get this from?

He is probably just biding his time because he doesn't want mercenaries coming in. He comes across as a very enthusiastic bloke and the vast majority of players warm to him. Its not rocket science.

If players don't come its nothing to do with Flitcroft, it will be down to them not fancying a relegation scrap, money, money or money.

We didn't play well particularly 1st half but we got a result. Problem is when we get more injuries - a la Daggers yesterday what then??

He's only been in the job two mins, how do we know if he's got the "salesmans touch"?

I completely agree Jay. The loan argument is always won when you mention Deon Burton; enough said.

    Never doubted my boy.

I agree re loan players. I do think we need some cover though because 3 strikers isn't enough - Scotland would be perfect as cover for Marlon. Etuhu wasn't great in midfield but he did a job and no player is going to be quality in the first game in a new position.

Loans have their place. Yes, they're a gamble. But to an extent, so is every signing. Loan or permanent (Mido!!!) You can look at Nile Ranger & Chris Wood. Then you can look at Paul McShane and Marlon Harewood. In my opinion, they cost us a shed load of money but kept us up last season.

Damn you. I'm thinking about Mido again now. So damn angry about that. Keith Hill is an idiot.

    I can see the possibility

Of a couple of short term deals to the end of the season being made, but not much more.

We were the battling Barnsley of old

1st half kept Hull down to minimum chances, closed them down well, back 3 of Hassell, Cranie and Kennedy worked hard, 2nd half Flitcroft took Mellis off for JoB and Wiseman got injured & replaced by Stones, we had a good 20 min spell where we looked dangerous and scored our goal, after which they had a series of free kicks that they wasted. Hull looked very average and disinterested.

Hassell MotM. If get a decent striker on loan in next 3 days I'd back us to stay up.

The first half was a very drab affair, where both teams huffed and puffed but without any quality.

2nd half saw a bit more action but we always kept Hull at arms length.

I have always said that this division is **** and yesterday proved it. There isnt that much difference between top and bottom with no standout teams. If Hull are a 3rd placed team in this division then I have no doubt we can go ob a run and get out of this mess.
