did we really start the game with a midfielder in defence?

It's august and davey is already playing midfielders in defence. **** me sideways.

Nice to see JCR got 90 minutes again. Players will not be picked on reputation... oh aye, course not. Its JCRs form thats getting him 90 minutes every week isn't it.

See ya simon

If you class Manure as a midfielder. Personally I don't class him as a player of any description.
100% right about Campbell-Ryce.
Worst player on the park this season.

Sadly he is a midfielder

And actually when played out on the wing and given space he is a decent player, very hardworking too. Unfortunately as with many other players at the club davey has never played to his strengths. Definetly not a defender and never has been.

JCR, shittest player at the club since january 09.

Davey, shittest manager at the club since 1909

Our 1909 manager Arthur Fairclough was a genius compared to this knob.

He's given him a game before the start of ramadan. Doubt we'll see him again now (not that there's much of him to see) as he'll not be available for over a month. By the time he is, Davey will have gone.
He might come back for him at his next club......lol!!

That was ten minutes after they said he was the weak link

I did notice that, made little sense.

He did one good bit of defending by the sounds so they got over excited. :D

on a day of many negatives

and not many positives, we wasn't actually that bad.
I cringed when they announced he was starting, would have preferred Potter ( yes its that bad).
He isn't a defender tho, pushed forward too much but got some good crosses in, just looks to lightweight.
You want negatives look no further than Kozluk and ADS.
ADS had his worst match I've ever seen him play, second half strolled around like he really didnt give one.

RE: Ahem

Well...you have been known to schedule games at the same time as BFC matches....plus half your team didn't travel an hour or so down the road to Leicester to back the team you support at a time when they need you most and you yourself have been decidedly critical of them on this board throughout the afternoon by the looks of things!

RE: on a day of many negatives

ADS is one of the most over rated players I've ever seen, yet he's God according to some on here.
For all the skill and ability he has what does he actually do? How many games does he stamp his class on?
Most games just seem to pass him by. I'd have taken what Bristol C were offering and used the money to go for Charlie Adam.

We've never played one game at the same time as BFC

We play in mornings then usually go to the BFC match after... we were supposed to be playing Leicester's fans today but they pulled out - if they hadn't and I'd gone all the way to Leicester I would have gone to the BFC match. I was actually wanting to go today itself but no one who was driving wanted to go.

It's alright for you, I don't get in free anymore and have more important things to spend money on than watching us lose AGAIN.

I have been to about 40% of away games the last 6 years or so and am thoroughly disillusioned with our away 'performances'

Our match this morning was far more entertaining than any BFC away game in recent memory.

away performances.....

I go to more aways than homes and tbh, our home performances are now on a par with the aways.

Don't patronise me. Prenton Park game when BFC played their most important game of last season at Home Park Plymouth ring any bells? You are a Barnsley FC fan when it suits you! And I WORK covering those games when you say it's "alright" for me!

That statement alone contradicts your claim of being a true BFC supporter. Thick 'n thin pal, thick 'n thin!

We played at 5.30

Barnsley played at 1.30.

We had it on Radio Sheffield on the way there. Specified to them we didn't want to play at the same time as BFC.

Some of us don't have £200 to spend on a weekend in Plymouth Matt.

Not all of us get expenses and paid for watching BFC (anymore).

At least we represent Barnsley in an extremely positive manner unlike the majority of Barnsley fans.

Thing is Matt

I go to Oakwell through thick and thin, missed about 4 home games in 6 years, and let's face it, there's been some dross. Last season was terrible, but I renewed my season ticket again despite having plenty of other things I could do with my Saturdays.

It costs me a tenner in transport to every game as well as the £300 to get in.

I will still end up going to at least half a dozen away games this season, but I don't have the time or money to waste watching us away from home every other week. It is not enjoyable any more. Life isn't just about being a football fan, I have other things I do with my weekends (when I don't end up going to football) A game is almost a whole day of my weekend with not living in Barnsley.

Today, I played a game of football which was thoroughly enjoyable, and then watched some great cricket on TV whilst listening to you guys on the radio.

If I'd just have gone to the match, I'd be even more annoyed that we'd lost again and thinking I'd wasted more hard earned money.

Simple as that.

Our team do a fantastic job of representing BFC, and the majority of us go to Oakwell regularly and a number of away games. We do not profess to be Barnsley's 20 biggest fans, or best footballers, but we don't half portray the club in a good light.
