    Eighties.

The good old days. Pre-East Stand. The smell of pipe smoke in the West Stand. No Metro-Dome. Paul Futcher, Steve Agnew, Steve Cooper, David Currie...

    Terrible entrance music. lol

i do, its legendary mate, a lot of other clubs go on about it.

Lyons Cakes WTF? it was the equivalent of Wombwell carpet centre that sponsored the local kids teams!

That was a decent kit. Stylish for its era with and one of only two sponsors we've ever had that was truly a nationally recognised brand (VK being the other).
The sponsor on the infamous stars kit was Shaw Carpets.

I'm pretty sure (but not certain)

That Shaw Carpets sponsored us for two seasons.
The "stars" strip, however I am certain of:

    RE: Eighties.

Remember standing on the Ponty with this playing in the background http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIVX1_J_87s. May have been late seventies, can;t remember.

You could here every word of all the music clear as a bell. But when there was an announcement about tickets or whatever it was completely unintelligible. Happy days.
