Nick Colgan is/was the best 'keeper in League One? Well, he's probably right now!

Colgan is still fairly dodgy. Fact.

He has a good record this season, he has also pulled some cracking saves off, although his refusal to come off his line is worrying and his commanding of the back 4 is none existent.

Im sorry to say that he has been very lucky at times this season. Mad Marlon is twice the keeper Colgan is.

Colgan is probably even more fortunate, as Flinders has let a couple of stinkers in against Bradford at home and Yeovil away. Stops that Colgan would have made in his sleep.

In my opinion ride this wave of fortunate goalkeeping all the way but we certainly still need to address the no1 shirt very soon.

how can you say ride the wave? Colgan has improved a vast amount this season FACT and us having one of the best defensive records in the league proves this.

He'll save us more points than he'll lose us throughout the season and i am not saying he is not going to make a mistake becasue he will, but how many times in a games will he save us as well?

So what you're saying is that we have.....

...the joint best defence in the league due to Colgan being lucky?

You could say that after 5 games, but half a season in? If it is luck, I hope it bloody continues....

    Didnt think...

Didnt think Colgan was fooling anyone with BFC clean sheets record but he's not that great.

He is a decent shot stopper, but if you are a goalkeeper and you dont have at least that, what have you got?

Without doing my homework I cant name the matches, but there have been instances where balls have gone straight through him,

I have seen his vulnerabilities and so have the opposition. He may well cost us when it really matters.

    and if

he does cost us, so be it, all keepers make mistakes, even great ones, (schimichael against us), to be honest i can't think of a keeper in this league who is much better than him, and none have stood this year and last year only the Hull keeper did and he is now been touted by prem clubs.

Granted he could still improve in some areas but to say he is a decent shot stopper is harsh, i'd say he is a very good shot stopper and seems a lot more commanding this season, plus his distrubution is second to none

    your vendetta against Beresford......

.....one of the strangest ever seen on this board, even more so than Direwatch. Does it all boil down to the fact that he's a Wednesday fan? As far as I'm aware so was Chris Morgan, and I know that Neil Redfearn watched Leeds as a kid, yet I don't see many on here slating them. We're all entitled to our opinion, don't get me wrong. But I just can't see how Marlon Beresford could be classed as a poor 'keeper if we watched the same matches that season.
