Same old crap today, plenty of pretty passing and back heels but no end product. We dont need 1 striker or even 2 we need 3 centre forwards and quick. The only championship quality striker we own is out indefinately and yet we still wait for a target man and a goalscorer.
The clubs best striker at the minute is Stephen Foster, the only player who ever looks like getting a goal id rather him play up top then Odejaye
RE: The clubs best striker at the minute is Why pick on Odejayi all the time? If you went today you wil have seen Cureton and Rigters miss chances just like the ones Odejayi has. Quite often the diference has been that Odejayi's pace has put him clear of defenders, so that the misses look worse. I'm not necessarily defending him, but change the record please. here's only Hume who you can definitely say has done any better.
Odejaye is a clown, did you see him today or at any game, mackens not good enough either and cureton should have scored today.
He's crap pal and occupying a place a proper striker should have....... I have been today and every striker on our books with the exception of Hume can go.
Don't forget Rigters - he's crap s well, Coulson had one good second half last year against Blackpool. Who does that leave? Errrr..... nobody. But gratuitously posting the fact that KO is crap at every possible opportunity smacks of something more than observation.
Yep i agree Rigters is crap, this is why Davey should have had deals lined up with players to join on Jan 1st, not two or three weeks into the transfer window
Well he did try to have one lined up but we couldn't afford him. Which is why you and I end up watching what we do.
Lined up? We should have deals arranged with teams weeks before the window so they could join on Jan 1st not messing about getting trialists to have a look at them before we decide.
The player he did have lined up is a league 2 striker which fair enough might work out but its not what i would call a quality signing

Please point out for my benefit at least who Davey could sign of quality that it is obvious would come to Barnsley. We are in a market that values obviously decent strikers out of our reach. You would have thought (before they came here) that Macken, Cureton, Rigters (KO is stretching it) might be useful. This is not an easy task, signing a decent strikeforce. Otherwise every club would do it, and given that most have more money than us, we'd be back where we started.
Its his job and the people he employs as scouts to find players to improve our team not mine. I wouldnt mind as much but he hasn't solved this problem ever since he took the job
Fair enough. It would be reasonable though to give any player a run in the side before judging his standard. This doesn't happen at Barnsley because we're always less than a stone's throw from relegation trouble. Manager needs to be seen to be doing something, even if doing nothing for a while might be the best option. After all, he's the manager, he's the one whose job's on the line. Today's society. Instant gratification.
