Difficult question! What makes something sticky??? No rude answers please - got asked this by...

6 year old daughter and not sure what to tell her. Seriously, is it something to do with the surface particles or magnetic attraction of the molecules (like blue tack)or simply drying precesses e.g sellotape/glue. Am I missing something really simple or is my 6 year old going to grow up into a particle physicist????</p>
