I'd expected to hear the Old Trafford coaching staff falling about laughing by now?

I think he'll still be a Barnsley player when the season kicks off.

Man Utd U21s beat Bury 6-1 today in a behind closed door friendly

Team: Henderson, Love, Borthwick-Jackson, Mensah, Redmond, Digby, El Fitouri, Harrop, Fletcher, Willock, Weir.

Scorers: Harrop 2, Weir, Fletcher, Willock, Mensah

No Holgate though (how old is he? would he be under 19's)

Theres another friendly On Tuesday 28 July, if digby's still there

am I the only one who thinks Digbys more likely to succeed at Utd that Holgate?

Digby had his injury, came back below full fitness, had his confidence knocked by some poor performances but everyone who comments on him from within the game says what unbelievable talent he has, and with the right support and coaching can go all the way to the top.

But seeing as he's a young Barnsley player we need to have regular posts laughing about a local lad who's on trial at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Would love Holgate and Digby to go on to have great careers. Another thing to be proud about as a Barnsley supporter.

Would have thought with his first team experience Holgate wouldn't play as low as under 19s despite being able to with his age. Maybe him not playing this match holds some truth to his mate saying he didn't like it there? I want us to get hold of Borthwick-Jackson. I know nothing about him or what he looks like. I assume he's a defender being the second name mentioned. Just don't think we've had enough double barrell surnames play for us over the years. Shame we never got hold of Taylor-Fletcher.

    Agree

Always seemed to be barnsley sport to have a go at local players. If Carrick can make it at Premier League level, no reason Digby can't if he fulfilled his potential. He has quality, but he's struggled with growing so quickly... soemthing it took Gerrard time to get over too.

If Man U and other prem clubs are looking, there is obviously talent. let's not have a go at the kid.

I actually can't believe anyone would question Paul Digbys ability. Even stevie wonder would be able to see he is a class above

He's fitter than Mido - I'll grant you that.

Doesn't seem to be in our plans though?

I would absolutely love it if Digby was signed by Man U now after all the comments on here. I don't think I've ever wanted anyone to succeed more than I do him right now.

He definitely takes a huge amount of unnecessary flack on here.

But then you could say that about just about any Barnsley player. It's what people do. Fun times.

I don't get this comment: 'If Carrick can make it', Carrick came through at premiership West Ham from a brilliant academy just after Lampard & Rio & around the same time as Joe Cole. He was very highly rated from a young age & started playing as a regular 1st teamer at a young age.

Pretty much the only thing they have in common is they're both tall
