I dont think that a 3 year deal is good enough for these young guys, some of which are only 17/18 years old. They are not going to be in their prime by the time they come to the end of a 3 year contract. Something better than this needs to be devised - what about a one year rolling contract like the BFC managers sign up to? Then couple this with a bonus scheme i.e. if you set 4 hollybank girders then you get 100% bonus (or am I getting this bonus scheme mixed up with the pit ?).
Only 4 hollybank girders, we'd ave them up for snap time. They don't have to be in their prime, the idea of longer contracts is to maximise the fee we could get should they perform well in their first year/s in the first team. I would give Stones and Rose similar deals.
