Its going to take a good 6 months or so to bed him in properly, so we could either ship him out on loan or introduce him via the subs bench and League cup/FA cup matches.
He hasn't played football for well over a year, and he was hardly a regular first team player before he got injured. The injury he has suffered will have been a major set back, he's not just going to walk straight into the first team.
Because he's been training for the most of the summer jacktatty. He was meant to go to the USA but I'm not sure if he went or did all his work at oakwell. I'm not saying the other players will have been to Spain and downed a double full English followed by a skin full And then a kabab on a night but there'll have done a bit but not but rightly had a break.
because hes been to rehab in the states, and I should imagine that doesn't involve sitting on your backside eating pies and watching re-runs of dallas, i'd have thought it would have involved somesort od physical excercise and fitness regime, but I bow to the vast knowledge of the intelligencia ( I would also include the spellig and, grammer police in that)so he should be that far behind the others in pre season if at all
Nothing gives you a better basic fitness like 40 matches the season before. That first pre-season late tackle from Dawson will answer a lot of questions. He'll feel that like no-one else. Mickie will probably be telling Perkins and Kelvin to go and give him a kick.
Have to partially disagree there Mr C,that only counts if you maintain a pretty high standard of training in close season..have a few weeks off and it feels almost like starting again in my experience.
I once watched Diggers and he was fast, very fast, quick feet and sending blasters to the other players feet, focussed, you could tell he wanted to win, his eyes never strayed from the ball and every pass was to feet. 100% effort. This was in Locke Park last summer, it was raining too.
No idea how you've come to this conclusion. Noone on this forum knows what sort of fitness the players are in over the summer & the lifestyle they lead
He's young and just come back from a long term lay off. See if keef will loan him for a month or two and get him playing regular football. One for the future lets not rush him and put pressure on his young shoulders.
