He could be the player who makes all the doubters choke on there cornflakes.I saw him in training about three weeks ago.He looked the ultimate athlete. What ever work they've been doing with him seems to have worked.
Exactly mate! Lets not forget the performances he mustered against Derby, Birmingham and Nottingham Forest when he was just 16. The lads got undoubted quality but hes been very unfortunate with injury.
Never had a run of games to know how good/bad he is. Same as RNL. Just brief glimpses either way. Good and bad. I for one wish him well if he gets a move there, and it will further enhance our reputation for developing/producing talented young footballers. I'd rather him stay like, but seems LJ has stocked up on central midfielders, maybe they know he's going?
He's not been great the last couple of years but he has something which I think can be developed. I'm sort of hoping he stays with us.
Sad how a young talent, just 20 years old is so harshly criticised by many home fans when returning from series of injuries. If he had had a run of games, a full season undeg his belt I could understand but in past 2 seasons I cannot remember him playing 2 games in a row, or getting a full 90 mins. Like they say with football team you cannot judge them properly until 10games. I'd say the same with a player i.e. You need a run of games to be able to judge them properly. England and Man U can see potential we once saw in him. So whats changed. Have we set our expectation to high? I agree the one that got away
I remember back in 1979 Allan Clarke started a young kid playing on the right flank. For 6 months some of the crowd gave him dogs abuse but Clarke kept him in the team. Ian Banks his name was.
You can only go on what you've seen. I've seen him pass back all the time, lose possession, and puff like a drayhorse after he's been on the field ten minutes. If it's all down to lack of fitness, why did our managers keep playing him when unfit?
