Time for him to step up to the plate on Saturday to show us how much he has progressed.

He's not started a game for about a decade. What makes you think he'll start Saturday?

Due to Injuries, suspensions surely this would be an opportunity for the lad to be given a start otherwise why have we still got him?

Assuming we don't bring someone in on loan, or play another player out of position (ie Mawson), the choices appear to be between Digby, Abbott & Bree. I'd guess Digby will get the nod.

how many times has this been said?
if he was a player we bought, we would be saying get rid, but because he's a home grown one, we seem ok to keep him..
imo i would get rid of Digby, a player getting a easy wage there.

Johnson didn't mention either Bree or Abbott in his interview. He spoke of himself (as a joke), Digby, Crowley and a young lad called Wardle playing central midfield to replace Pearson who is suspended.

Yeah, I'd posted that before I listened to his interview. I still think it'll be Digby who plays.

As soon as Digby makes any kind of mistake the crowd will be on his back , can't expect young players to just come in from the cold and perform. The lad needs a run of games , if he still doesn't step up then get rid.

I hope he starts, plays very well, and keeps his place ahead of Pearson.

I hope our supporters are intelligent enough to realise that you can't be out in the wilderness for months on end and then step-up and instantly perform (or else he's crap) in a team who have lost their last four league games and who are massively low on confidence.

Same thing happened every time RNL got his chance (chance = chucked into 1 game every few months).

How many times do you hear managers talk about top players "getting back up to speed over the course of a few games"?! Lads like Digby and RNL are never afforded that opportunity.

Lad needs a fair crack of it over the course of a few games.

Never seen the words 'intelligent' and 'our supporters' in the same sentence before ;-)

If he was a young lad from another club on loan he'd be playing every week regardless of how badly he performed.

See Chris Wood, Ben Pearson, David Fox, Diego Arismendi, Declan John and co as evidence

    ^^^^^^^^
Exactly. I think Pearson's Man Utd so-called pedigree plus other links are helping him keep his place.

If he becomes available to buy, I wouldn't pay more than £75k.

I really hope Digby is played on Sauturday and well enough to retain his place.

Some reason digby gets slated on here the lads got quality you don't get asked to train with Man united and represent England if your **** do you. Just because he doesn't charge around like Pearson people say his crap get behind him he gets far to much stick on here. I hope he plays sat and has a good game. Pearson for me seems to be getting less effective with every game, slows everything down whilst on the ball.
