EL-HADJI DIOUF and Mahamadou Diarra are set to sign for Doncaster Rovers.
Dean Saunders, boss of the Championship strugglers, said: "I have spoken again to Dioufy and Mahamadou.

"We need to get some new men into the side — quickly."

Free agents Diouf and Diarra will net short-term deals.

I tend to agree; I just can't see this policy working.

    For once

You've hit the nail on the head

With the gates Donny pull in, their ever more vulnerable league position and the rather rash decision to sack SOD (although he didn't seem to have a plan B which was a big issue), I feel the Pikey's could go down this year, and not be back up anytime soon due to financial issues.

They should be more content with trying to keep their status rather than enhance it further.

    Re: For once

After the details emerged last week, it is now clear that the manager is just a puppet. A yes man. And its Agent Willie who decides which players come into the club (his own players...)
And it would be less embarrassing if these 'star' names were actually good players. They aren't. They are all over-paid, over-rated, foreign mercenaries that nobody else wants - hence signing for Conference club Doncaster... haha, good luck, and say hi to the massives next year for us!

I felt sympathy for their fans, until on football heaven they came on saying us and the massives were just jealous that players like that wanted to go to them instead!?
Oh aye, am green with envy I am. Get Butts, Sir Bob and Perks out. I want Diouf, Ilunga and Diarra in.. idiots

Despite seeing Ilunga having a decent 1st half vs Leeds, everytime i've seen him, he's been terrible. I remember us playing against him a few years ago with a makeshift midfield, and him having a torrid time against Simon Heslop (no disrespect to Hessy, who seems to be making a bit of a name for himself in the lower leagues).

Diouf, decent footballer, not much of a goalscorer, but a horrible lovely person none the less.

Know very litttle about M.Diarra so can't pass comment

Jealous much? If we're talking about big names, i'd rather have the odd name from Leicester or Vicenté from Brighton.

Just think how much stick you could give him. Every time he touches the ball a big chant of 'arry an'. Could almost be worth the thirty quid.

    haha!
Give it a few weeks and we'll be able to do just that, if indeed he is a Pikey lovely person by then
