    I dont understand how Giggs or Phil Jones haven't been booked, Wayne Rooney was lucky Silva didn't go down prior to having that shot otherwise he should have been booked at least.

    That's not the point, the laws of the game do not take a results orientated analysis on 2 footed tackles. Whether he got the ball is irrelevant. The fact that he dived in with 2 feet means that by the letter of the law its a red. Having said that the approach taken in practice by referees is not consistent
