Just a question for you fellow Reds, Has anyone or does anyone use the disabled stand? Sadly my Dad has been diagnosed with lung cancer that has spread everywhere, But being a Red for the last 50 years he wants to goto the game on saturday, the club have transferred his ticket into the stand but i just wanted to know, what time was the best time to get there? is the view anygood? and is the stand as good as it looks. Its only two months ago my old man was playing cricket age 74 winning a trophy whilst playing for and captaining Thorpe Audlin 2nd team. Never been one to be poorly and worked up until last year aswell its come as a big shock to the family, but as i said earlier 50 years of watching the Reds home and away , and even with the team playing how we are he still wants to go to the game on saturday!! COYR
I heard they're knocking it down and replacing it with a jumbotron scoreboard Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sorry to hear about your dad, unfortunatly I can't help with your question but I hope your dad enjoys the match, lets hope they put on a performance to help put a smile on his face.
Re: total respect for your Dad , matey Sorry to hear about your Dad, skella. He sounds a really top bloke. My Dad died last December, and my father-in-law died 2 days ago (Saturday 23 November) - the latter from motor neurone disease. So I know what you and yours are going through. All the best to you and yours.
Hi Skellatyke Sorry to hear about your dad's condition. Joan and Ken run the disabled stand and would be happy to support in any way. With regards to arrival, I am personally unsure but would suggest no later than 14.30. If you require any specific info just PM me and I will speak with Joan. It's great in there by the way, your dad will have a good time.
Can't help with your ? Skel but I'll take this oppertunity to wish you and yours all the best and hope your dad enjoys the game
Re: total respect for your Dad , matey Hiya skellatyke, very sorry to hear about your Dad, my thoughts are with you and the family. I am sure that we used to sit together in the Lower East Stand just in front of the hospitality boxes about 4 or 5 years ago. Now across in the Upper West Stand mate. Hope E*** can make it on Saturday and the team turn on a good display for him. Thorpe Audlin will sadly miss his bowling expertise.
Re: total respect for your Dad , matey thats him All star, we are now top of East stand so no chance of getting up there
Sorry to hear about your Dad, mateRe: Disabled stand I have the utmost confidence that the club will look after him with respect, care & decency.
Re: total respect for your Dad , matey So sorry to hear of your loss, mate. Football pales into insignificance when compared to life's real issues.
Re: total respect for your Dad , matey Sorry for your loss cambstyke gave me goosepimples when reading your post as JLWBIGLil says football is insignificant in real life.
Re: total respect for your Dad , matey Thorpe Audlin? Bet I played against him when I played for Notton 2nds a few years ago.
Re: total respect for your Dad , matey Many thanks, skella. Much appreciated. Really hope your Dad enjoys the game.
