    BARNSLEY Football Club are delighted to confirm that midfielder Brian Howard has been named Disabled Supporters Player Of The Year for the 2006/2007 season.

    Brian will receive his award from representatives of the Club's disabled supporters prior to kick off today.

    never understood why they get their own award.

    Thought they would be sick of being treated differently by now. Don't see the point of it.

    T'was a sick joke luvvy

    I reckon he played like he was isabled....one of the worst keepers we ever had IMHO,and if we go down IF...then he will have done his fair share of damage towards that

    BARNSLEY Football Club are delighted to confirm that youngster Ryan Jennings has been named Academy Players' Player Of The Year for the 2006/2007 season.

    Ryan is a first year scholar at the Academy and has had an outstanding campaign. He will receive his award prior to kick off today.

    THE wait is over - Barnsley FC are delighted to confirm that Brian Howard is the Reds 2006/2007 Player Of The Year.

    Brian came out on top following the biggest ever poll of Barnsley supporters with more than 1,300 votes being cast - the highest number ever in a Player Of The Year contest at Oakwell.

    Bobby Hassell was in second place while Martin Devaney came in third.

    Brian will receive the Boylin Trophy prior to kick off today from members of the Board at Barnsley FC and competition winner Rachel Allott.

    Robert has made a big impact in the first team this season after progressing through the Academy system and will receive the Hadfield Trophy prior to kick off today.

    RE: never understood why they get their own award.

    I think it came from the time when we used to have the old disabled stand. Disabled supporters plus their escort were allowed in for free. It was seen as a way of giving something back to the club. I could be wrong though.
