No Stones/Golbourne so that rules out playing wing backs. Shocked to see Foster and Hassell on the bench when we seem short on defenders in the first place. Harewood has been on great form, surprised he was dropped to the bench. However if i was going to drop him to the bench, i would have started Scotland and brought him off for Harewood when he's run out of steam. Perkins and Tunniclife give us energy and tenacity in central midfield. Mellis should be playing alongside them to give us creativity.
Playing devils advocate - i think we have proven unable to play 4-4-2 and defend well enough. Therefore maybe he was thinking "Let's stick with 3-5-2 but hope we can get away with it at home, with attacking full backs". It was a gamble and clearly it hasn't worked.
