Just been for our customary sunday walk round the Dearne and came across a memorial seat donated for somebody called Alan which had been smashed up.What makes some people show little regard for an obviously sentimental item. The family must be devastated.
The young of today have never been taught right from wrong,a good clip around the ear is what they need. Of course the pc brigade will disagree but you reap what you sow in life and this is the result.( ( (
I feel sorry for the Family as well unfortunately some teenagers don't have any respect for anything. They have never been taught that NO means NO. Too many parents give in to the kids for a "quiet life". They expect Teachers to discipline and teach the kids right from wrong but the first time the teacher raises their voice to little ?? the parents are up at school complaining about the badly behaved teacher or the child hits the teacher and the parents say that he/she deserved it because of his/her rough treatment of the child. Children have to be taught from being very little what is right and what is wrong and so this has to start at home. It is too late to wait until they are at school and are violent towards others. We don't have a right to have everything we want. We don't have a right to go around terrorising others. Most teenagers want respect and for their parents/elders to listen to them but they have to know that it is a 2 way thing. If you respect them they will respect you. Talk to them how you would like to be spoken to. Sorry off on a rant there. I think it is awful that something that means a lot to someone has been smashed and would hope that the vandals are caught and made to pay for a new bench and have to help people in their community, for instance do an elderly persons shopping or tidy their garden or something like that.
