The only players worthy of mention tonight, in my opinion, were Scowen & Pearson. The rest were shameful. I can't think of anything positive to say, as there weren't any positives. Drink and bed for this angry, grumpy, old man tonight.
I'd add young Smith to those two, didn't get it right every time but worked his nuts off and actually looked like he wanted to be there.
Agreed. No passion, no skill, no pace, no intelligence. Most of this team are just going through the motions, and so, I'm afraid is Danny. Don't ask me who'd I'd swap him for because I'm ceasing to care. Whoever came in would be stuck with this talentless bunch. We've a long time in the wilderness ahead.
I know I am critical of the team more often than not but it really does sadden me to see such scathing comments from tremendously loyal fans. The team doesn't deserve such fans as things are!
We were bad. Ramage was ok, had to cover wide left first half for Nyatanga, no nonsense defending. If we cleared as simply as he did we wouldn't have coughed up two goals for them.
Anybody want some train tickets for Crawley and Gillingham? Thats me done till that judas has gone. Mark Robins red n white army Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
With Smith it seemed like he'd been sent on to save the match. Poor lad was forced into being a winger and a full back. Full marks for effort. He has a future for us for sure.
I'm sure tonight will see a massive shift in the previous momentum that was building for DW to go. It may well be the turning point for a lot of fans. There didn't seem to be a plan A, never mind a B or C! Too many (and we didn't have that much inexperience when comparing to most other games) players just weren't anywhere near to the level required. In skill, application, desire and all round effort. It's probably in league terms the biggest 'shock' as far as losing against an 'underdog' to use Cup giant killing cliches! Very, very, very bad day at the office! That's putting it kindly.
All the people claiming replacing a manager has never worked with us and that he's building his own team. Well look at the scenario from 04/05 when we overhauled the squad. Was it worthwhile getting rid of Hart for Ritchie? I think so... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Give smith credit , came on and got no help but crossed some decent crosses in . Pearson and scowen look a decent midfield . Rest of team poor
Can't disagree with the Dodorth Godfather. We were appalling from start to finish. As a fan I can forgive most things. A lack of talent. A lack of vision. What is completely unacceptable is our team being disinterested and not playing with the slightest hint of passion. Honourable mention to Smith. Tried hard didn't always make the right choices but put some lovely crosses in. Very few times have I ever been ashamed of my team tonight was one of them.
Was still a squad with a lot of the players coming from the lower league and a fair few were young. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Folk always say "as bad as I've ever seen", and tonight I think it was for me. My defence of the manager has taken a pounding tonight, with him doing the pounding. I just don't know anymore. Tonight has opened my eyes fully, to the opposed view on DW. Sad, sad night.
What a sad state of affairs when one of our " glass full" fans thinks we were ****. I don't give a toss about Wilson in out or whatever. I want to return to Oakwell feeling pride and passion with the displays on offer. The sooner the better!
And for this one too. I've spent close on sixty years faithfully turning up at Oakwell. I've seen the very, very bad times when we were a gnat's off dropping out of the league, and I fear ever going there again. I don't believe in sacking managers every five minutes, but I'm now seriously worried about Danny. Tonight's display was woeful. There was no game-plan that I could perceive; just a narrow, hopeless display that made an average side look good. I think it is now time for a change, sadly. We have had three transfer windows and we are as bad as ever. Who would want the job, though?
