I know this is only one point of view, but, the upshot of it was, The Olynpic bid was bent, Lord Coe is bent, Tessa Jowell MP was ill advised on costings, not bent, but, extremely dim, The National Lottery is being milked to the detrement of ALL good causes, again, I stress, this is the findings of the Dispatches team and open to debate, but, the fact that none of the main players allowed themselves to be interviewed, this, the lack of transparency leads me to the conclusion that The Olympics will be a big fat financial headache for this, and future tax paying generations.

One final thought, upon winning the Games, we, the great unwashed, were told this will be great for the entire country, I'm sorry, I can't make that connection, for me, this is another way of central government and the vultures of the financial square mile shafting the ordinary people of Great Britain.

    Rant over.

Dispatches aren't the first people to highlight these issues. Martin Samuels wrote a great article on it about 6 months ago. Although the bit about Coes business dealings was new to me. An interesting watch and like you say, the failure of the various authorities to say anything, or to release information that should be freely available, speaks volumes about whether they have hit the nail on the head.

    RE: IOC..bent

Yes the fact that the IOC is as straight as Michael Barrymore, is widely accepted, but, we have very little, if any, control over them, the scamming Barstewards like Coe and the pond life he surrounds himself with can and should be fully investigated NOW, this is a matter that concerns every person in ths country, not just London.

    Was it the Blake report?.........................

although Londonwill be better off it will be at the expence of everyone else to the tuneof around £4Billion and around 50,000 jobs lost.

also what was quite disturbing to hear was that grass roots sports money provided by the lottery would be redirected to the Olympicsinstead, which is around £900mill in total.

Grass roots sportsget nothing untill the assets of the games are sold, which could be around 2014..

It was indeed Dr Adam Blake that deduced that.....

Our great Capital will be better off to the tune of 6billion, the regions, (thats us) will be worse of by some 4billion, the Olympics will also be detemental to our manufacturing, and 31,000 + jobs will be lost country wide, London, don't you just love it?

Coe's firm had made £850,000 in its first year. Wouldn't answer questions as they say it's a private firm -using the peoples money.
As always, the more they get, the more they want.
