Morsy is a Deep lying CDM. He simply can't go box to box like Scowen, Sessi or Hourihane. Very good at re-gaining possession and picking out players but really not suited to a midfield 2. Angus & Marc are just too similar. Both 6ft 3+, strong, good in the air, like to get stuck in, come from the same background etc. The problem is they share the same weaknesses which means if there is a small quick agile player or a seasoned championship striker they're both going to be vulnerable. Neither individual deserves to be dropped but for the sake of the team Jackson should come in on Tuesday. Mawson starting to be missed. Hammill and Kpekawa don't click. No real understanding or chemistry between these two is hurting us down the left. Both undoubtedly talented as individuals but without Aidy's influence we're just not effective down that flank anymore. Yiadom is a RWB/RM. Fantastic at bombing down the flank but defensively way off to play in a back 4 with little protection. It is like playing with 10 men with Winnall at times. Bradshaw does more in 10 mins than Sam does in 80.
Some good points. If Bradshaw does more in 10 minutes than Winnall does then did he score twice I must have fallen asleep...
Sam scored a goal that was his trade mark at Scunny , by running on to a through ball and one on one on the keeper. Most games for us he's been asked to hold the ball up whilst midfield link up .
Morsy was the only midfielder to carry the ball yesterday past opponents. And created two goals in doing so. How many times have you seen Jackson to know he needs to replace one of the other two? We scored at Leeds with the pair of them combining down the left. They combined against Villa to get us a corner, that Hammill then swung onto Cole's head who assisted Winnall's leveller. I agree in terms of protection, yesterday. He had a job on with little help. He's had some iffy games this season, have have the rest of the strikers. Yesterday wasn't one of them. I felt he performed well. Linked brilliantly with Marley, won more than his fair share of headers, had little service but when he was set through on goal he stuck it away excellently.
hmmmmm. Since Aidy White got injured: LLDLL Before Aidy White got injured: LWWLWWW 'Iffy' is an understatement. He's been totally non existent without Marley next to him this season. Too many times he is a passenger. Maybe Armstrong struggled once or twice with no service but apart from that our other strikers have been consistently good. My pecking order would be: 1 Watkins 2 Bradshaw 3 Armstrong 4 Payne 5 Winnall.
At the start of the season, before White got injured we were still riding the wave of promotion and also teams were probably underestimating us slightly, now they're not and our form has slightly dropped. Don't get me wrong Aidy White has been missed but I wouldn't put our form down solely to this. Plus, we all know Aidy White's injury record, he'll miss a few more games yet before the season is over. Regarding SW, he can be slightly frustrating sometimes but he puts the ball in the back of the net. Yesterday's was a cracking finish. Him and Marley link up well so they should be in the lineup. Bradshaw after those 2.
Makes perfect sense have someone who has never scored in a league game or started for us above a bloke who scored 20 odd goals last season and is this seasons leading scorer. It's obvious really.
