    Marriage does seem a very archaic concept to me, I'll be doing my best to avoid it although it does seem very important to some women so might not have a choice.

    Yes. It should obviously be a willing union of two people in love not an arrangement for monetary gain or other reasons such as securing status(Kate Middleton) or securing residency.
