DIXON MOTORS has folded - 800 local people out of work

cant belive a major household name has gone pop

worked there, bought cars and had them serviced there, not the cheapest but did a good job


anyone think we're talking a new housing development on wakey rd now? and we think the traffics bad now!

Apparantly the administrator did not offer27 of the sites (including Barnsley) to Evans Halshaw who bought the remainder (or so claimed a representative of AH in a radio dee dah interview)

so if Spartacus is correct the admin people didn't even try to save the other sites? how unfair to the poor people now out of work is that...surely they have a legal requirment to at least attempt to sell on?

The legal requirement is to get as much money for the people who Dixons had debts with (these include the people who have paid deposits on cars, etc). If a site is worth more for housing then unfortunately it's what they have to do.

 

but not to even try selling it?
