I can't believe it, my job of 2 years at Dixon lies in the balance. Any one else heard owt re it's future?
RBS who owned then funded John Haynes purchase of Dixon Motor Group called in their debt as Dixon could not find another bank to back them as part of the purchase agreement with RBS they had to find a backer by August 2007 so they (rbs)pulled the plug.
I've heard Evans Halshaw have bought Renault & Nissan york bids in for a few others as well.

RE: Tits up hopefuly be trading again soon expecting an announcement early next week question is would anyone buy a car/ have one serviced from us?
If this has been in the offing for a few months I can understand now why, when I got a phonecall from one of their sales reps, he was very high pressure on me. Tried all kinds of things when I told him that nothing in the Nissan range suited my needs but that I had considered the Megane, to try & get me to back out of my deal with Ford!
my sister-in law has just cancelled hers with dixons was meant to pick up tommorrow but cancelled all finace etc and told them she dont want it now
Job Security Dixons Motor Group has gone into administration, as someone has pointed out - RBS basically called in debts. In regards to job security, there shouldn't be too much of an issue to be honest. If both the Nissan & Renault sites are owned by Dixons, then these may be sold off to secure money back, and probably taken over by another dealer. Both marks are fairly popular, and won't be replaced by another. The chances are, another dealer will take on the two sites - remember Renault owns Nissan, hence they usually trade together (same as Harratts Nissan & Renault near Denby Dale). The key factor here, is that both sites are pretty well upgraded to the UK standard, so no further investment is required by the new potential owner. JC Snell lost their Peugeot franchise, because they couldn't afford to upgrade their Stairfoot premises to the required level by Renault UK. Whoever takes on the site will keep staff, only changes may be at top manager level. Evans Halshaw could take it on, but don't be surprised to see others involved though.
